Chander Pahar Completed 100 Days In West Bengal

Chander Pahar Celebrated 100 Days At Inox, South City, Kolkata

Kamaleswar Mukherjee's Chander Pahar, An Adaption Of Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadayay's Novel Of The Same NameCompleted 100 Days Recently. The Entire Cast And Crew Was Present And Celebrated The Occasion By Cutting A Cake At South City Inox, Kolkata. Hundreds Thronged To Catch Their Hero Shankar Aka Dev.

 Describing 'Chander Pahar' as a big step for Bengali film industry, director Kamaleswar Mukherjee says it may be a never-before success.  

"We may not have anticipated it would become such a big success," the physician-turned 'Uro Chithi' director told PTI on the occasion of the Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay children's adventure thriller based on South Africa notching up the 100 days' screening record.  

"Even today there is 35 per cent occupancy rate at Inox and other plexes. The film was also feted and applauded in overseas," Kamaleswar said attributing the success to the fiction's protagonist Shankar, Aka Dev.  

The film's music director Debojyoti Mishra said, "In this film Kamaleswar, Lion, Black Mamba, Elephant and Dev - everybody is the Hero."

"Chander Pahar has succeeded to create a broad canvas reaching the Hollywood mark in terms of mount, effect and imageries," Mishra said about the Shree Venkatesh Production.
